The UntilGone Guide to Redecorating Your Home

By: Amber Hunt, Feb 26th 2021

Spending more time at home these days means more opportunities to make it just the way you like it. I find that it’s incredibly important to be happy and comfortable in the spaces I spend the most time in, and I’m sure that’s a feeling I share with many of you out there today. If you want some ideas on how to decorate the rooms in your home from someone that took one semester of Interior Design, read on!

Kitchen

I’ve been learning to cook more (aren’t we all, lately?) and the kitchen is quickly becoming one of my favorite places in the house. I just throw in my wireless earbuds, get out my measuring cups, pots, and pans, and utensils and get to cooking. If you’re trying to be healthier but still love your french fries like I do, I highly recommend investing in an air fryer. It will look right at home on your counter, and now you can have all the pickle chips you want without the side of guilt. Thank heavens for kitchen islands to give you more counter space when you can’t stop buying kitchen appliances like me!

Living Room

Ahhh, the living room, my second favorite room in the house. This is where I chill with my partner and dogs on the couch at the end of the day and watch movies or tv to relax. Our dogs of course have their own armchair but are still constantly bickering over who gets it and who is stuck sitting with us on the couch. Luckily we have a pretty solid coffee table in the room so we don’t have to worry about their squabbles knocking everything around. Dogs, am I right?

Office

Some of us are utilizing a home office more than ever, which I am loving. Since I spend so much time at my desk lately, I tried to make sure to get one that’s big enough for my coffee, my computer, my notebook, and all of the pens I can’t stop collecting. I also make sure to stuff nearly every space in my house with plant stands full of big, green, leafy plants. And of course, you can’t sit around working all day without a comfortable desk chair. I prefer the ones with wheels so I can swing around in circles on my floor mat when I need a break!

Bathroom

Do you drink a lot of water and therefore spend a ridiculous amount of time in your bathroom like me? Then this is the section for you! Bath mats and shower curtains are two of the main functional things you can do to make this room look pretty and cohesive. Also, installing a nice white cabinet for extra storage can also tie things together, and what’s a bathroom without a soap dispenser? Now, grab some fresh new towels and a bathrobe and prepare yourself for a nice long bath in your newly decorated bathroom!
