Fun Holiday Series: World Naked Gardening Day!

By: Amber Hunt, May 1st 2021

It’s May! The sun is shining, the days are getting longer, and it’s definitely thyme to get out there and wet your plants - in the nude! That’s right, you heard me. Drop your pants, rip your shirt off, and soil yourself with good ol’ Mother Earth. World Naked Gardening Day is kind of a big dill and was created by nudists to celebrate body positivity while feeling closer to nature, and while we are absolutely here for it, we have a couple of celebration tips!

Probably avoid anything thorny. You never know when your dog will spot a rabbit and push you into that rose bush that’s taller than you are while you’re watering it!

Maybe avoid public spaces. I’m not convinced the authorities will be in on all the dirty fun you’re having at the community garden!

Remember your sunblock. I simply couldn’t bare it if I found out you got sunburn from this exposing holiday!

Make sure to stay in your comfort zone. We be-leaf in you and would be happy if you rose to the occasion, but certainly don’t want you to be too uncomfortable!

Use props. Wheelbarrows, watering cans, really darn big leaves, anything you can find to cover your behind!

At the end of the day, I suggest you just romaine calm and have fun with it. I am rooting for you!
